Environment Minister Phil Hogan's visit to Galway may be hit by protests.

Connemara based group Glór na Tuaithe is planning protests over the weekend IF the Minister refuses to meet with them.

The group is fighting against septic tank charges.

Padraic Tailliura O'Conthaile, who's chairman of Glór na Tuaithe, is still hoping the meeting with Minister Hogan will take place.

Environment Minister Phil Hogan is in Galway today because over 16 million euro is being invested in water schemes in Galway.

He's officially opening the Galway Design, Build, Operate DBO Group Water Scheme.

The 16 point 7 million euro scheme involves the provision of 15 water treatment plants to serve 15 supply schemes throughout the county.
