Environment Minister Phil Hogan will not be adressing the Seanad on the future of MFG.

Earlier Galway Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh requested the Minister to outline the future for workers at the Gaeltacht company which closed last week.

However, the Government has refused to allow an amendment to the order of business allowing the Minister to speak to the Seanad.

130 jobs, including 30 in the Connemara region were lost when the company announced its decision to cease trading immediately.
