ELDERLY WOMAN KNOCKED DOWN IN CLIFDEN

An 88 year old woman is recovering in hospital in Galway after she was knocked down in Clifden this weekend. The elderly woman sustained serious leg injuries when she was hit by a taxi as she was crossing Market Street around quarter to 8 Saturday evening. She was taken to UHG for treatment for a broken leg. The driver of the taxi was questioned by Gardai but they're now appealing for independent witnesses to the collision to contact them on 093 22 500. That's a Clifden number, 22 500.
