East to meet West in all-Galway semi

IT WILL be an all-Galway affair in one semi final of the Connacht Junior Cup as West United put a run of eight penalty shootout losses in succession behind them to eventually see off the challenge of Westport, while East United - courtesy of a Christian Ryan brace - were very much having matters their own way with a more leisurely 2-0 win over limited Sligo visitors Aughannagh Celtic at Castle Park and the outcome is that they will now meet in the last four of the competition and in the process guarantee that one Galway team will be in the final.
