Discussion on alternative to Tuam Town Council postponed

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A discussion on an alternative to Tuam Town Council after it is abolished next year is to be held at the September meeting of the town council.

The proposal by Cllr Martin Ward suggests that current town council members should consider continuing as members of a revamped community council.

When Cllr Ward’s motion came before the town council this week Cllr Tom Reilly suggested that discussion on the proposal should be postponed until the September meeting as this time span would give members an opportunity to assess its merits.

Members of the town board agreed to postpone discussion on the proposal until then.
