The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is now refusing to comment publicly on a row with Galway County Council over a bill of 8 million euro. The bill is for works on piers on the Aran Islands. The Department says it's taking this stance because of worries about possible legal action. Galway County Manager Martina Moloney said last month that the Council may mount a legal challenge if the Department does not pay this money.
