Demonstration over plans to privatise city council refuse service
Galway bay fm newsroom - A demonstration against plans to privatise the city council's household refuse service takes place at city hall today.
(9/09)It's being organised by the Galway anti-austerity assembly, and gets underway at 3:30pm to co-incide with this month's meeting of the local authority.The topic is up for discussion at the meeting, and Councillor Catherine Connolly has already said she will not support an attempt to privatise the service.Meanwhile, Galway City Council says it will not make any comment on the matter until it's brought before councillors.
