Possession of cocaine and ketamine

THE District Court will hear the case of a 21-year-old man alleged to have had cocaine and ketamine worth €2089 for sale or supply at a house on the Ballymoneen Road in Knocknacarra.

Rokib Adelo, with an address at 14 Fána Búrca, Ballymoneen Road, appeared at Galway District Court on four changes contrary to Section 3 and Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

It is alleged that at his home address on July 1, 2025, Adelo possessed cocaine and ketamine.

He is further charged with possession of quantities of cocaine and ketamine for the purposes of sale or otherwise supply.

Sergeant Damien Prendergast told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed summary disposal of the case in the District Court.

He said the alleged offences arose from a search of a house and the total value of the suspected drugs was €2,089.

Adelo confirmed his name to the court after Judge Ryan said there were two different names on the charge sheets.

He was remanded on bail to appear again on March 23.

The accused is also charged with two public order offences – breach of the peace and failing to provide a name and address to a Garda – both said to have been committed at the Nox Hotel, Headford Road, on September 7.

Adelo is further charged with the possession of cannabis herb valued at €20 at the Garda North Western Regional Headquarters in Murrough, Renmore, also on September 7.
