COUNTY HAS WATER SHORTAGE AFTER MALFUNCTION

Water users in parts of the county are experiencing a water shortage or low pressure today [13/9] as a result of a malfunction.

The breakdown happened at the treatment plant for the Mid Galway Scheme.

The areas affected are Monivea, Newcastle, Gurteen, Colemanstown, Turloughmore, Abbert Group Water Scheme and the Mid Galway Phase 4 Group Water Scheme.

Council crews are working to try and fix the malfunction and hope to have normal water supply restored by this evening,
