County Councillors say they will keep the pressure on officials to respond swiftly to alleged illegal land clearing at Kilskeagh hill. The move follows an announcement by director of Planning with the County Council, Paul Ridge, who says they will not be issuing a court injunction over the alleged illegal activity at an old quarry.Director Ridge told the Council meeting today, that legal advice was sought on the matter and a court injunction would be "unsuitable" at this time.He said it was a difficult decision to make as the person involved was not present at the meeting with the County Manager earlier.Paul Ridge added that the Council "would pursue the activity at Killskeagh to the best of its ability."Almost 20 concerned local residents attended today's council meeting and walked out angrily when the news was relayed by the Director.Councillor Peter Feeney says councillors will keep the pressure on to speed up a response by the council.
