Date Published: 13-Nov-2007
City Councillors last night passed a motion to rezone controversial lands in Briarhill from Residential to Commercial, against the advice of City PlannersThis now paves the way for owner of the land, Millionaire property developer Liam Mulryan to develop the site which is beside Briarhill Shopping Centre. Its expected Mr Mulryan will now seek planning permission to extend the new dunnes stores and build a petrol station and drive thru resturant on the site. The rezoning of the lands has caused concern about noise pollution among local residents as the planned development will double the size of the Shopping Centre.
