COUNCILLOR ANGRY AT SLOW PROGRESS IN KNOCKNACARRA COMMUNITY CENTRE

Date Published: 15-Dec-2008
The slow progress in providing the much needed community centre in Knocknacarra is unacceptable according to city councillor Catherine ConnollyShe was assured by city officials that the matter would come up at the November meeting, then the December meeting and now the manager says it won't come up until the January meetingCllr Connolly is very angry that the change of site proposed by officials and the developer in the summer has not been discussed by the full city councilThe Independent councillor says the proposal to move the site of the centre to the Bothar Stiofan/ Rahoon Road side is fraught with problemsShe says it's too far away from the heart of Knocknacarra and there will be re-zoning problems and she wants the slow progress in the Knocknacarra Community Centre project discussed as a matter of urgency
