Council urged to band together over management of city community centres
Galway Bay fm newsroom - A city councillor is calling on her colleagues to join together to oppose the outsourcing of management of two city facilities to private operators.
Independent Councillor Catherine Connolly says she deplores the decision of the City Manager to seek expressions of interest to manage Knocknacarra Community Centre and also Ballinfoile.
An invitation seeking expressions of interest has been advertised on the etenders website and the closing date is April 22nd.
Councillor Catherine Connolly says that while, it's an executive decision, if all councillors join together, the City Manager could not ignore them.
