COUNCIL SEEKS REPORT ON CITY HOUSING ESTATES

City Councillors are seeking a report with details of any outstanding works to be carried out at four estates BEFORE they are taken in charge.
A report on Gleann Rua in Renmore, Cuan Glas in Rahoon, Radharc na Farraige in Ballymoneen and Manor Court in Knocknacarragh is expected to be given to councillors in the coming weeks.
Director of services Tom Connell told this week's meeting of the local authority that the city council had taken legal action in relation to the Radharc na Farraige estate.
He added that following this, substantial works had taken place at the estate.
Director of services Ciarán Hayes said that all four estates were now in 'substantial compliance' with planning and recommended they be taken in charge.
However, City Councillor Catherine Connolly said it was 'appaling' that city council had not given documentation on the courts ruling.
