Contractor for Ballinfoille project to be selected shortly
The preferred tender for the long awaited Ballinfoille Neighbourhood Centre project is expected to be selected in two to three weeks time.
The community has been campaigning for the facility for some thirty years now.
The plans which had been estimated to cost more than two million euro had been subject to a re-assessment of tender applications after the initial contractor pulled out last August.
It went up on the eTenders website at the beginning of March after city officials advised that the tendering process undertaken in the last year had proven inconclusive.
13 expressions of interest were received by city officials and following assessment, five to six tenders are now in contention for the project.
The city council will select the preferred tender in the coming weeks.
