CONCERNS OVER ODOUR ON SHOP STREET

Date Published: 30-Jan-2013

Concerns have been raised over a sewer smell on Shop Street in the city centre.

Cllr Michael Crowe raised the issue with city officials at this week's special meeting last evening where he said the smell can be stronger in certain months.

The Fianna Fail Cllr said the odour there is unacceptable and must be addressed.

Director of Services Ciaran Hayes conceded that there is a problem with the sewer on Shop Street and said that ultimately it needs to be replaced.
