CONCERN OVER FUTURE OF PASTORAL CARE SERVICE AT PORTIUNCULA HOSPITAL

Concerns have been raised over the future of the pastoral care service in Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe.

The Chairperson of the Hospital Action Committee Padraig Mulligan says some members have retired and have yet to be replaced.

The team provides support to bereaved families and a follow - up service where required.

Speaking on Galway Talks, Padraig Mulligan says the service is vital and should be protected so that families can continue to receive the support they need.
