An investigation is underway into an unlicensed security contractor in operation in the city.

Officials from the Private Security Authority carried out an inspection of three contractors and identifed one unlicensed provider.

Meanwhile, 95 percent of individual security staff were found to have excellent compliance rates.

However, Geraldine Larkin, Chief Executive of the PSA says identity badge requirements are still not being met in the city.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, she says sanctions will be imposed on those who do not comply.
