CITY PRIMARY CARE CENTRE TO EASE UHG A&E PRESSURE

The new Primary Care Centre in the East of the City will lessen the pressure on the emergency department at UHG.That's according to Taoiseach Enda Kenny who officiated at the official opening of the new unit on Doughiska Road this afternoon.The centre, which is in operation since July last year, is part of the HSE's national strategy to develop purpose built units to deliver primary care to local communities.Speaking to Galway Bay fm news at the official opening, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the centre will take some pressure off the A&E unit at UHG where he said recent protocols have also eased overcrowding.
