CITY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX WITH MINOR

A 20 year old city man has pleaded guilty to having sex with an underage girl in a shopping centre car park.The man appeared before Galway Circuit Criminal Court this week. The accused, who may not be named at this stage for legal reasons, is charged with having sexual intercourse with a girl who is under 17 years of age at Galway Retail Park, Headford Road, on February 16 last year.Judge Raymond Groarke deferred sentencing in the case to May 28 next and directed that a probation report on the accused and a victim impact report on the young girl be made available to the court on that date.
