CITY MAN JAILED FOR CASTLEGAR BREAK-IN

A 26 year old man charged in connection with a break-in at a house in Killeen, Castlegar last year has been jailed for 21 months.
Shane Sweeney with an address at 79 Castlepark in Ballybane appeared before Galway District Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
While at Galway District Court, Sweeney pleaded guilty to two separate charges involving trespass and handling stolen items at Galway Water Treatment Plant on the Dyke Road in the city on 14th September last year.
A further five months was imposed for trespass at Galway Water Treatment Plant and 3 months concurrent for handling stolen items.
