CITY COUNCILLOR DEMANDS ACTION ON OCCUPY CAMP

The future presence of the Occupy Galway camp is to be brought before city officials this afternoon [May 14].

City Councillor Padraig Conneely will present a survey which gathers feedback from over 20 local businesses in the Eyre Square area.

Cllr Conneely says the findings show that many business people feel the camp is having an adverse effect on business and should be removed.

He says he'll be asking for swift action when he raises the matter with Acting City Manager Joe O'Neill at this afternoon's meeting.
