The Augustinian Church in the city centre is set for a revamp.Earlier this year, the City Council turned down a proposal by the Augustinian Community to refurbish the church at Middle Street and Augustine Street. However they appealled that decision to An Bord Pleanála and have now been successful. The Augustinians argued in the appeal that they need to carry out the works at the church due to the cramped nature of the existing shop.
