Chairman to open first public meeting of Galway Roscommon Hospital Board
Galway Bay fm newsroom - A special board meeting of the Galway Roscommon Hospital group in the city this evening aims to give the public its first opportunity to see the board in action.
That's according to Chairman of the Board Noel Daly who is to deliver the opening address of the first such public gathering at the Nurses Home in UHG.
The public forum is an obligation under the Board's terms of reference to have a number of such gatherings each year.
Agenda items include updates from Hospital Group Chief Bill Maher and Group Clinical Director Dr. Pat Nash.
Castlebar, Letterkenny and Sligo hospitals are to join the wider group by next month bringing the staff numbers to eight thousand.
It follows an expansion of the group to be named West/North West announced by Health Minister James Reilly last month.
Speaking to FYI Galway, Chairman of the Board Noel Daly says it's an historic day in the hospital reform plan to have a public meeting.
