It was for a great cause

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP), Mid-West Region, was delighted to welcome President Catherine Connolly to its Castleconnell shop in Limerick this week.

The Castleconnell shop has long provided affordable clothing and practical support to local community members, while also offering a welcoming place of friendship and connection.

The shop is supported by a dedicated team of 32 volunteers who ensure its day-to-day operation.

Without their commitment and generosity, the Society would not be able to continue providing these vital services to the local community.

During her visit, President Connolly unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the shop’s ongoing presence and service to the Castleconnell community.

“We are honored to welcome President Connolly. Her visit recognises the dedication of our volunteers and the important role the shop plays in supporting local people.

“We thank her for joining us and for her continued support of our work.” said Bridget Healy, Volunteer Manager and Regional President, SVP Mid-West Region.

SVP Mid-West Region thanks all volunteers, supporters and local residents who help make the Castleconnell shop a welcoming and valued community resource.
