CALLS FOR TUAM DISTRICT COURT TO BE MOVED TO BON SECOURS

Date Published: 04-Nov-2009
Calls have been made by Tuam Town Council to use part of the old Grove Hospital as a temporary District Court.
Mayor of Tuam, Tom Reilly claims business owners in Tuam are sick and tired of seeing Garda vans parked in the Town Centre when the District Court sits in the Town Hall.
Mayor Reilly also says shoppers are tired of witnessing people being led away from the Court in handcuffs.
At this week's Tuam Town Council meeting, Director of Services Frank Gilmore said the facilities at the former Bon Secours Hospital would be more than adequate.
