CALLS FOR CHANGE IN ROAD RULES TO IMPROVE GALWAY BUS TIMES

North West MEP Jim Higgins says a change in rules of the road will lead to more efficient bus services in Galway.

In most other countries, including England and Wales, buses have automatic priority over cars but not here in Ireland.

MEP Higgins has written to the Transport Minister Leo Varadkar requesting he introduce a law similiar to the Highway code in England, which obliges motorists to let buses out into traffic when it is safe to do so.
