CALL FOR AER ARANN BOSS TO STEP DOWN FROM TOURISM POST

Date Published: 12-Oct-2010

There's been a call for Aer Arann owner Padraig O Ceidigh to step down from his role as chairman of the Failte Ireland West tourism board.

City Councillor Padraig Conneely claims that the Galway business man has never been able to chair meetings of this board as he's too busy "fighting for the survival of his company".

He also said that Mr. O Ceidigh has "too much on his plate and is unable to devote enough time to this pivotal role".

It comes in the wake of approval for the continuation of the examinership at the regional airline by the High Court yesterday.
