BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED IN ROUNDSTONE

Date Published: 24-Apr-2009
The boil water notice has finally been lifted in Roundstone, after a year and a half. It was put in place in November 2007 following an outbreak of Cryptosporidium in the Roundstone Public Water Scheme. The county council has spent the past few months building a 3.2 million euro extension from the Carna/Kilcastle water scheme to Roundstone to provide a safe source of drinking water. The water reservoir at Roundstone has also been upgraded.
