A delegation from the National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht will this morning meet with East Galway bogowners.

Members of the Barroughter/Clonmoylan and Ardraigue Bogs Action Group say they will tell the delegation that "bogs will be cut".

This morning's meeting in Portumna at 11 is a follow-up from a meeting with the NPWS last month to discuss the turf-cutting ban on these three sensitive bogs.

Spokesperson for the Bogs Action Group Dermot Moran says the solution is to allow bogowners cut turf.
