Date Published: 09-Dec-2009

Tourism in Portumna has been dealt a blow with news of 16 emerald star cruisers to be taken out of the area.

Emerald Star has announced it's axing jobs at it's bases in Leitrim, Portumna and Belturbet.

The move means Portumna will be left with just 24 of the company cruisers, a major reduction on last years figure of 80.
