Big Galway event cancelled until next year

The annual event will not take place until 2027
A major Galway event has been cancelled until next year as organisers have issued a statement on the matter.
The annual Recess Sheep Show was pencilled in for August at Joyce’s bar but has sadly had to cancel until next year after the fire that took place at the start of this month.
The organisers of Recess Sheep Show said: “Due to the current circumstances, this year’s show is cancelled. We will be back in 2027.”

Tracy Piggott was penciled in to complete her incredible 14km underwater endurance swim across Galway Bay in support of Sensational Kids charity.
However, the weather has not played ball today which has pushed the swim back by over a week.
Tracy told Galway Live: “Unfortunately due to weather conditions this morning on Galway Bay Tracy's swim has been postponed until the 8th August, full details to follow.”
There are three ways you can be part of this extraordinary achievement on August 8:
You can: Join Tracy for the last 100 metres and help bring her home to Salthill Beach; Join the organisers at the Salthill Hotel at 1pm to give Tracy the warm welcome she deserves following her estimated arrival at Salthill Beach at 12 noon.
But if you can’t make it, you can support this amazing cause by scanning the QR code on the attached invite or by donating online here.
Tracy added: “If you can, we'd really appreciate you sharing the attached invitations with family, friends and colleagues. Every share helps spread the word, raises awareness for Sensational Kids, and brings us one step closer to Tracy reaching her fundraising goal.”
