BALLYBRIT MAN JAILED FOR TRYING TO STEAL CAR

A 19-year-old Ballybrit father of two, was sentenced to nine months’ detention this week for carrying a flick-knife and for being drunk in charge of a car he was attempting to steal in Oranmore last year.Thomas Lawrence of 26B Ballybrit Court, pleaded guilty at Galway District Court to getting into a parked car at Riverdale, Oranmore on June 30 last year and to damaging the driver’s door and ignition. He also pleaded guilty to carrying a flick-knife on the same date and to being found drunk in charge of the car.
