BALLINASLOE TOWN REUNITED AS WATER LEVELS RECEDE

The town of Ballinasloe is reunited this morning as a number of major arteries have reopened.

The main bridge over the River Suck has re-opened, and a stop go system is in place on the slip road coming into the N6 motorway.

A stop go system is also in place coming into Ballinasloe town.

However, at least 200 houses are thought to have been affected by the floods in recent days, and homeowners in the Derrymullen area are still under serveral feet of water.
