City Councillor Donal Lyons is seeking answers from the Government on the delay in providing a Primary Care Centre for Knocknacarra.

The area was identified as being in need of a centre four years ago by the HSE and the Department of Health but no progress has been made.

The proposed Primary Care Centre would include a GP, Public Health nurse, physiotherapist and other medical specialities.

Independant TD Noel Grealish has agreed with Cllr Lyons that he will place a parliamentary question to the Minister for Health Dr James O'Reilly.

Councillor Lyons says the presence of a health care unit will mean less patients will have to be hospitalised.
