Aldi submits new plans for Knocknacarra discount store

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Aldi has submitted scaled-back plans for a discount store in Knocknacarra.

The company was granted permission for a discount store and primary care centre and offices at Knocknacarra District Centre in 2009.

The latest application proposes a 15 hundred square metre single-storey discount foodstore with off licence at the site bounded by Western Distributor road and a link road.

The development would also include 96 car parking spaces and cars would enter the area via the link road to the north.

It's a significantly smaller scale development than that which Aldi already has planning permission for.

A decision on the new plans for Aldi in Knocknacarra is expected in January.
