950 JOBS TO GO AT AVIVA GALWAY, DUBLIN AND CORK

Date Published: 19-Oct-2011

950 jobs are to go at Aviva Galway, Dublin and Cork from the 2000 employed

The trade Union Unite which represents 1,300 staff at Aviva says workers are in a state of shock at the extent of the job losses announced this morning,

Unite says the axe has fallen harder and sharper than the worst fears of staff.

The union says workers are stunned and scared by what they have been told and it now intends to engage with Management to seek justification for every job being cut or transferred.

Aviva employs over 200 people in its Knocknacarra call centre and branch in Eyre Square.
