Mobile phone company, 3G, has succeeded in getting a decision refusing permission to keep equipment on a building in Salthill overturned.

Earlier this year, the City Council refused the company permission to keep 3 antennae and 2 dishes at the Eglinton Hotel.

However the company appealed the decision to An Bord Pleanála, which has overturned the City Council's refusal.

Meanwhile, mobile phone company O2 has not been as successful in its bid to get the go-ahead for equipment at Fr. Griffin Road.
