3000 GALWAY STUDENTS TO GET JUNIOR CERT RESULTS

Over 3 thousand Galway students will receive their Junior Cert results today.

Nationwide, almost 57 thousand students took the State exam.

Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has welcomed the increase in the numbers studying higher level science and maths.

A number of agencies in the city have joined together again to provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free venue for students to celebrate.

A supervised mega-party will take place at Leisureland in Salthill from 8.30 this evening until midnight.
