1700 without power in Galway following storm damage

Galway Bay fm newsroom - 1700 households across the county are without power this morning following overnight storm damage.900 homes in the Curra area of Tynagh are without power while a further 700 are without supply in the Gort and Kiltartan area.

ESB crews will be resuming work this morning and will focus on clearing timber and repairing lines.The Limerick to Athenry rail line is closed due to debris and bus transfers are in place.Line maintenance crews worked through the night to clear debris and trees from train lines, and maintenance trains have been out since 4 am.

Gardai are also warning of icy road conditions in many areas particularly on the N59 and on all local roads.
