The Minister for the Environment is investing 15 million euro in water schemes in South Connemara.

The investment will result in two new reservoirs in Rosmuc and Glenmore and a pipe network around Carraroe, Rosmuc and Casla.

Regular problems have been reported with the water supply in South Connemara down the years.

Environment Minister Phil Hogan has now given his approval to invite tenders for the construction of a new Water Treatment Plant, two new reservoirs and the pipe network for the Costello Regional Water Supply Scheme.

Local Fine Gael Deputy Sean Kyne says the funding will be very much welcomed in the region.
