Kenna ready to gamble

GALWAY United manager Jeff Kenna says he is considering making “one or two surprises” in terms of selection for tonight’s crucial relegation clash with Finn Harps in Terryland Park, a game which hasthe earlier kick-off time of 7.35pm as it is being broadcast live on RTÉ 2.While Kenna says he won’t stray from the system he has used in the past two months, he is considering freshening things up in terms of personnel, though he wouldn’t be drawn on what changes he is considering. “All are fit and available, but there might be one or two surprises. I haven’t decided on anything yet, and I am not going to speculate on what those changes might be. Training has been going well all week, and there has been no talk about relegation or pressure, it is still in our hands and it is up to the lads to deliver,” he said.United looked unusually flat when going down to Derry City in the Brandywell last Sunday night, but rather than that being the sign of some deep malaise as the season enters its final two weeks, Kenna put it down to his players simply coming up against a far superior outfit.“I’ve said it before, Derry are a very good side and will be up challenging for the League next year. They were simply a better side than us and there is no great shame in losing to a side like that.“No disrespect to Finn Harps, but they are not in the same league as Derry, so if we concentrate on our own game and play to our abilities, I think that will be enough to win the game,” Kenna said yesterday.United haven’t beaten Harps in Terryland in their last six meetings in the league, and Paul Hegarty’s side will come into the game...
