Plug in to what is happening in Galway

The Galway App is a new, hyper-local app that allows tourists and locals alike to ‘plug in’ to all that is happening in the city. Find bars, restaurants, shops, and places to stay with ease through the app’s Interactive mapping, boosting footfall for local businesses, as well as useful info and a one-touch system to contact every business on the app.

26% of all visitors to Ireland come here to walk and hike. With this in mind, the developers have made mapping a central component of the app with numerous interactive hikes and trails and self-guided tours available alongside business listings.

The app is also a transactional platform where businesses can sell tickets, promote special offers and sell their wares. From the 5th of December, users will be able to buy their pals a pint in Connacht Hospitality Group bars including 1520, Hyde, An Púcán and The Connacht Hotel.

Darach O’Flaherty, Managing Director of Booniverse, says:

“Our goal is to create a digital infrastructure that local businesses can plug into, capturing some of the huge transactional revenues that leave local economies every day. Booking fees from all transactions contribute to the future development of app functionality. Transaction fees will also be invested back into the local economy via local sponsorship and projects”

Booniverse have started their expansion to other towns and cities including Dublin, Cork, Tralee, Killarney, Midleton, Youghal, Cobh, Fermoy, and Carrigaline. There are a number of other towns and cities in Ireland, the UK, and Spain coming on board in 2020.

To download the app just search ‘Galway’ in the App or Play store.
