Galway-based financial planner Niall Leyden has been named Ireland’s Wealth Management Executive of the Year by the All-Ireland Business Foundation.

The Sligo-born Moycullen resident is the founder and Principal of nationwide advisory firm Atlantic Wealth Management

Niall and his team work with a select number of business owners, professionals, families, entrepreneurs, and windfall recipients throughout Ireland

Founded in January 2024, Atlantic Wealth Management is a boutique, nationwide advisory firm.

“We don’t do volume – we do values. Because financial planning, done properly, can change lives,” he explained.

Niall and his team work exclusively with a select number of business owners, professionals, families, entrepreneurs, and windfall recipients throughout Ireland — delivering deep expertise, lifelong partnership, and complete clarity.

Niall’s own career spans over 25 years in wealth management and financial planning including two decades with Ulster Bank Specialist Advice and senior wealth management roles with both Irish Life and Permanent TSB.

In late 2024, Niall featured on a podcast that reached audiences across Ireland and the UK & further afield sharing his Ten Financial & Life Commandments.

“People want to know they’re going to be okay,” he says. “They’re craving truth, simplicity, and someone who speaks their language — not the language of spreadsheets.”

The commandments sparked a wave of conversations around wealth, health, mindset, and meaning, and continue to inspire clients across the country.

This summer, he co-launched a new podcast with Garry Kelly, the broadcaster and creator of ‘Garry Talks’ which reached Number 1 in Ireland on business podcast platforms.

The show explores the four pillars of a fulfilled life – health, wealth, business and family, with all episodes on Spotify, YouTube, and all major podcast platforms.

Outside of work, Niall – a long-time supporter of Cycle Against Suicide – has completed challenges such as Mizen to Malin.

This summer, he is cycling from the top to the bottom of Portugal, climbing nearly 10,000 metres across the mountains, to raise funds and awareness for mental health support across Ireland.

“It’s about giving back,” he said. “You can’t separate health and wealth. They go hand in hand. What’s the point in building a future if you’re not well enough to enjoy it?”
