An enterprising Galway company has been shortlisted for Best Professional Conference Organiser in Ireland as well as having two conferences up for the Best Conference in Ireland award!

Go West Conference & Event Management has been in business for over 21 years and manages a variety of events, conferences and custom travel in Ireland.

From international conferences, medical meetings, corporate events and specialised incentive and custom travel, Go West has worked with numerous multinationals, academics and conference ambassadors over the years.

Their Food on the Edge event which started last October is up for Best Conference Award and is also set to take place again this October.  Food on the Edge (FOTE) saw the world’s best chefs descend on Galway for a two-day conference to discuss the future of food.

Voted Food Event of the Year 2015 by John and Sally McKenna, the conference saw over 40 countries represented bringing flavours and points of view from Australia, Hong Kong, USA, UK, France, Italy and South America.

The event in 2015 and successive planned events in 2016 and beyond formed an integral part of the bid to have Galway designated as European Region of Gastronomy designation for 2018.

Another successful conference was the sold out dotMED creative medical conference which is headed up by Galway natives and Consultant Rheumatologists Dr Ronan Kavanagh and Dr Muiris Houston.

The winners will be announced on Friday, July 15.
