Town Hall establishes new mentorship programme

Galway’s Town Hall Theatre is continuing to offer support and mentorship to emerging artists. Its latest scheme is a ‘Theatre Development Programme’, which will be led by the director of Decadent Theatre, Andrew Flynn.
Andrew will be assisted by a panel of experienced theatre-makers from various disciplines who will support and share their knowledge and experience with emerging artists and companies in a programme that will offer practical supports, career guidance and mentorship.
Professional independent theatre-makers from across a range of genres, who consider themselves at an early stage in their career are invited to apply for this scheme. Applicants don’t have to live in Galway but people who are based here or have a strong connection with the county or city will be given priority.
The Town Hall has played a major role in helping new and emerging theatre-makers to develop their art form since the venue opened in 1996. The need for such support has grown in recent years, with the increased number of freelance and self-employed people working in the business.
This latest project will take place over a six-month period this year.
