Musical gems at Druid

Katherine Hunka, Dermot Dunne and Malachy Robinson, a trio of violin, accordion and double bass players will perform in the Mick Lally Theatre (Druid Lane) at 8.00pm next Wednesday, January 29 as part of a tour of Ireland.
They promise an evening packed with musical gems including Baroque, South American and Klezmer music and some film classics.
The leader of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, violinist Katherine Hunka and the extraordinary accordion player Dermot Dunne have been playing together since 2007. They have toured Ireland and China playing everything from Baroque to Piazzolla. For their Galway show they will be joined by the highly sought-after and versatile double bassist, Malachy Robinson, who is also a member of the ICO and of the Crash Ensemble.
The Mick Lally Theatre is a great venue for acoustic music. It has just 90 seats, so booking is advised and can be done on www.entertainment.ie or from from classicallinks at 087 2809932.
