A long way away from the field of play

A Galway GAA star and a limerick broadcaster and podcaster are set to join the line-up for Celebrity Gogglebox Ireland.

The full line-up for the celebrity special includes Ricky Tomlinson & Asa Murphy, Claire Byrne & Ciara Doherty, Kyla Cobbler & Mike Rice, Ryan Tubridy & Mark Wogan, I'm Grand Mam's PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey alongside Liz O'Kane, Siobhán McSweeney and her best friend Jess, Kerry Katona & Alison Spittle, Love Island stars Fitzy & Lola, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell & Ian O'Reilly, Olympian Ciara Mageean & Dublin GAA legend Michael Darragh Macauley, Ian Dempsey & Mario Rosenstock, Brian Dowling Gourounlian & Lottie Ryan, and Eric Roberts, Elaine Crowley & Karen Byrne.

A spokesperson for Virgin Media said: “From television favourites and comedy stars to sporting heroes and household names, the celebrity cast will settle into their sofas to deliver their trademark wit, unfiltered opinions and laugh-out-loud reactions to some of the week's biggest television moments.

“With plenty of surprises, sharp observations and unforgettable exchanges, this special celebrity edition promises a blockbuster start to the new season of Gogglebox Ireland.”

The Love Island couple took another big step in their relationship this week after they were spotted walking out from a jewellers in Galway city.

Fitzy and Lola have been inseparable since making their own decision to leave the villa midway through the season as they had found what they were looking for.

Lola even enjoyed her first GAA match as Fitzy togged for Bearna/Na Forbacha at the weekend.

She was spotted in the crowds cheering on her man at half back but Milltown showed no love for her or Fitzy hammering his side by ten points.

There was more to smile about on Tuesday though as they stepped out with matching Claddagh rings from Shop Street’s Claddagh Jewellers.

They said: “A lovely visit from Fitzy and Lola, who both left with a new ring. Between the chats and a few photos, we crafted Lola’s ring by hand to get the fit just right. A lovely Galway afternoon all round. Bainigí sult astu — enjoy them.”
