Faoi Cheilt – dramatic new times at An Taibhdhearc

Faoi Cheilt, six new short plays by anonymous authors will be staged at the city’s An Taibhdhearc Theatre from next Monday, May 23, to Sunday, May 28, at 8pm.
Faoi Cheilt (Secret or Concealed) is the latest production from Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc and follows the success of the company’s recent drama, Baile Beag Mór and the series of trad concerts it hosted in the theatre.
This latest show comprises six world premieres of six short plays, being staged in six different parts of the theatre. Each play is linked by one hidden taboo theme.
The audience will be allowed to explore An Taibhdhearc, visit rooms that are normally off-limits and enjoy six imaginative and highly diverse pieces of theatre.
Each of the short plays has a thought-provoking and at times, incendiary theme, according to Fíbín’s artistic director, Philip O’Doherty, who adds that “audiences can expect a panoply of ideas and inspiring theatrical devices”.
