WATCH: Padraic and Cathal Mannion aiming to win second All-Ireland medal with Galway

EXCITEMENT is building around the Ahascragh-Fohenagh area with the club having both Padraic and Cathal Mannion involved in this weekend’s All-Ireland Hurling final.

Padraic and Cathal Mannion will line out in their fourth All-Ireland Hurling Final with Galway on Sunday afternoon when they take to the field against Limerick. Padraic and his brother Cathal will both be hoping to pick up their second All-Ireland medal on Sunday. What is the excitement like for their parents having two sons lining out on the biggest day of the hurling calendar?

“We're not living at home, either of us. They're all very grounded and very low-key so they won't be getting too excited about anything. It's a nice, safe space to go to, the environment you want to be in. Our home house is very good that way. They're very grounded and very relaxed, so it's great,” added Padraic Mannion.

Cathal Mannion feels Galway will need to be at the top of their game to beat Limerick in the All-Ireland Hurling final.

“(Limerick) have been the most consistent team, you have to be at the top of your game if you want to beat them, they’ve showed it again this year.

“It’s going to be a massive challenge, the biggest one so far this year. Our job as players now is to prepare as best we can and if we do, it gives you confidence to go into the game, that’s our aim,” concluded Cathal Mannion.

Padraic and Cathal Mannion spoke with the Connacht Tribune Sports department ahead of the All-Ireland Hurling final between Galway and Limerick.
